JoAnn Birrell was honored and humbled to take the oath of office for her fourth term as County Commissioner on December 30 2022, joined by her husband Dave — her #1 supporter.

A 30-year resident of Cobb County, JoAnn has spent decades giving back to the community she calls home. She has devoted her time and talents to organizations including Keep Cobb Beautiful, the Neighborhood Safety Commission, the McCleskey/East Cobb YMCA, the Northeast Cobb Business Association (NCBA), and the Cobb Veterans Memorial Foundation.

• Established Keep it in Cobb Committee to support local businesses and keep tax dollars and revenue in Cobb.
• Adopted Local Vendor Presence Ordinance to give additional points to businesses located in Cobb.
• Implemented "How to do Business with Cobb" Seminars throughout the County to give small business an opportunity to network with Cobb County personnel that make purchasing decisions.
• Meet monthly with HOA and Civic Association Groups to discuss Zoning cases prior to Public Hearings.
